1. Devil's Backbone Brewpub
Devil's Backbone Brewpub is a huge place with great food and drinks. It's not fancy but they do everything extremely well. Their wings and salads are great but my favorite is the Beef Dipper (house smoked shaved beef round, Swiss cheese, thick bacon & garlic sriracha aioli on toasted ciabatta au jus & fries). 2. Bold Rock Cidery
Bold Rock actually has two sides; hard cider and the distillery. Either way, this working farm is a great place to go when the weather is nice and you want to carry your drink down to the South Fork of the Rockfish River and sit on a boulder with your feet in the water.
The food is "grab and go" but the dining room in addition to the outdoor seating. I highly recommend the burgers and nachos.
3. Three Notch'd Brewery
This former schoolhouse has a wide variety of beers and a great menu of tavern food. I highly recommend the wings. Inside has a rustic feel while the outside (weather permitting) offers seating and axe throwing. Maybe not the best place to take the in-laws. Three Notch'd also has a "hut" for bourbon tasting. I don't drink bourbon but my friends were impressed enough to buy some to take home.
4. Belties
This new coffee shop is on-point. A completely renovated structure has created a morning focal point for Nellysford. The building is beautiful, the food is great, and the service is outstanding. When you visit this place you'll see how much they care. I recommend the fruit bowls and the waffles.
5. The Edge
The Edge is perfect for apres-ski socializing. Located adjacent to the slopes this tavern has a very casual atmosphere and good food. Grab a beer and a burger while you relax with friends to watch a football game or listen to live music.
